Performance Enhancement

As human beings, we wish to perform well in life. Excellence, therefore, is a common human intention. Thus, it is important to know how to mentally and physically support yourself in order to function optimally. Many things influence performance, such as relationships, environments, emotions, and mental and physical states. Instead of leaving conditions to chance, training the mind and body to support performance and well-being can help individuals, communities, and organizations reach their highest potential. Performance enhancement provides skills and strategies to improve your quality of work, time management, satisfaction and engagement level, and overall well-being.

Mindfulness and Meditation

This workshop is intended to create awareness around what areas of life have been placed on autopilot. It educates on the science of mindfulness and provides simple and applicable ways to slow down the brain and the body so that full engagement is possible. You will learn how to connect through the practice of presence and train the mind for greater peace. Mindfulness enhances neuroplasticity in the brain- improving executive functioning, long-term memory, and job performance. Furthermore, it strengthens the immune system, increases resilience, and reduces burnout. Mindfulness allows us to experience the full dimensionality of what it means to be human.

Introduction to Positive Psychology

Looking to prioritize and improve the quality of your life? Positive psychology provides the research, interventions, and tools to do just that! It examines what makes life worth living and offers an opportunity to identify and engage in validated components of well-being to increase life satisfaction. The primary objective of positive psychology is to foster well-being and optimal functioning through the activation of personal and collective strengths (Seligman, 2011).  It intends to broaden the existing science and research of traditional psychology by taking a more comprehensive and balanced approach towards the human experience, including both the positive and negative aspects, both the happiness and suffering of life. This workshop will offer the resources and strategies to enhance life by cultivating what us best within individuals and communities.

Inner Resilience Training

This workshop aims to address the ways individuals support and strengthen themselves internally amongst stress and/or adversity. It is rooted in the science of self-compassion, a concept that is associated with higher well-being, healthier responses to stress, and positive psychological functioning (e.g. Neff et al., 2018; Neff & Costigan, 2014; Neff & Germer, 2017). The practice of inner resilience integrates mindfulness, self-kindness, and common humanity to develop a frame of mind that enables healthy and constructive coping, thus making individuals more resilient. Our time together will draw awareness to the internal critic and provide evidence-based skills and strategies to approach oneself productively and humanely.

Team Cohesion and Connection

It is easy to overlook everyday social interactions and relationships and the way they impact personal and professional endeavors. However, healthy relationships and authentic connections may be the most important determinant of well-being. In this workshop, we will discuss the role of team cohesion in enhancing the quality of life, provoking the experience of positive emotions, and fostering health (Fredrickson, 2013; Dutton, 2003). The robust research on the physical, mental, and emotional effects of interpersonal relationships will be explored, while applicable strategies for nurturing your relationships in a specified environment will be provided. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of what it takes to develop a thriving team.
